Terms & Conditions

Using this site means that you agree to these terms and conditions. Please stop using the site if you do not accept them. These rules apply to the reference pages, links, and partner tools made available here.

This privately owned site is not affiliated with St. James Parish, a sheriff, jail, court, corrections department, or other government body. Neither this site nor its advertising partners offers FCRA-covered credit, employment, insurance, or tenant-screening services. The site points visitors toward Louisiana and St. James public-record resources. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

Nature of the Site

This is a private reference resource with no government authority. It stores no official booking or court records and cannot confirm custody, release anyone, or file a request or court document for a visitor.

Its pages identify St. James Parish Sheriff booking and custody sources, Louisiana corrections resources, courts, and outside research tools. The office that created a record remains responsible for it.

Acceptable Use Rules

You agree to use the site responsibly and lawfully. You must not:

  • Break any applicable law through use of the service.
  • Use information to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
  • Use content for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or other eligibility decisions.
  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without permission.
  • Run automated bots, crawlers, or scrapers against the site.
  • Interfere with availability or another visitor’s use.

No Consumer Reports

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. We and our advertising partners do not provide background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services. You agree not to use site or partner information for an FCRA-covered decision, including:

  • Hiring, firing, or another employment decision
  • Tenant selection or housing eligibility
  • Creditworthiness, lending, or insurance premiums
  • Licensing, permits, or government-program eligibility
  • Any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

Outside Websites

Links may lead to Sheriff custody tools, booking reports, Louisiana corrections pages, courts, legal resources, and outside search services. A link is not an endorsement. We are not responsible for an outside service’s content, data handling, terms, or availability, so review its rules before use.

Service Provided As Is

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranty that:

  • Information is accurate, complete, or current.
  • The service will remain continuously available.
  • The pages will be free from errors, bugs, or security flaws.
  • A partner search will return complete results.

Custody status and public records change often. Nothing here is an official statement from the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office or another government agency.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and its operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages arising from access, use, inability to use, or reliance on the service.

Your Indemnity Duty

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, losses, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

Ownership and Permissions

Site text, graphics, logos, design elements, and code belong to St. James Parish Busted Mugshots or its content partners unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, distribute, republish, or modify them without written permission.

Revisions to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. Updated terms take effect when posted, and continued use after posting signifies acceptance.

Access May Be Revoked

We may restrict, suspend, or end access at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.

Louisiana Governing Law

Louisiana law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in Louisiana. Agency records remain subject to applicable Louisiana law, including the Public Records Law in R.S. Title 44.

Severability

If a court finds one term invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected term will be limited or adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.

Questions about these terms may be sent through Contact Us. That contact route cannot provide an official record or government service.
